What's the Powder Metallurgy technology?
Mr. Xuanhui Qu indicated,powder metallurgy is a metal components forming method,means the raw material is metal powder,after compacting and sintering processing,the components formed.
The biggest feature of powder sinter process is that the sintered components are very close to final shapes and dimensions,no need to do much secondary processing,especially for the massive production.So it is very suitable for the massive production of the automotive parts.
He said powder metallurgy is the best technology,if comparing with the other metal processing technologies.
Mr. Xuanhui Qu said,there are three development stages on powder metallurgy technology.First: The ready processing is traditional compacting,and the processing is very simple,but the strength is low .Second: The rapid solidification processing,the mechanical strength is good,the manufacturer could do low density,high density,heat-resistance,wear-resistance processing or other operations for the parts.Third: The consistency realizing for the components and the materials.
As well,he said,the powder metallurgy technology has been applicated on many civil and military industries. For example,a lots of metal components used on the Apple mobile phones were produced by Metal Injection Molding(MIM) technology,and,the normal material is stainless steel,such as SS304,SS316,but if use Titanium alloy,the weight is lighter and the appearance is more nice.
