European Powder Metallurgy Association(EPMA) hosted 2016 Powder Metallurgy Parts Award in recently, its award opened to members of the association, included tranditional powder metallurgy, metal injection molding, hot isostatic
pressing and material manufacturer etc.
Metal injection molding occupy importance position in the list of competing parts, but finally, a 2C material with auto component, won the MIM category award. The 2C-pin which developed by Schunk Sintermetalltechnik GmbH in Germany was
the first in the world to produce parts included two different materials,316L stainless steel and cobalt based alloy Stellite 12.
Through use this top-end MIM technology, it can solve a key problems of customer, its a complex part combines wear resistance and weldability within a wide temperature range. The challenge and innovation is change two different alloys to
approximate the same sintering behavior. its avoid cracks, two components can achieve a continuous gradient of chemical composition, rather than a sudden connection zone. The judges said the its technology opens up a new field for injection
molding and is expected to deliver significant growth potential.The density of parts: > 7.6至> 8.2g / cm 3, Tensile strength:> 500 to> 1000N / mm2, yield strength range> 200 to> 900N / mm2, hardness range is 120-180HV to 440-
540HV, elongation range> 50 to> 2.
